Suryapet: The Suryapet police on Thursday arrested three persons of a camera stealing gang. Presenting the accused persons before the media, district SP Parimala Nutan said Gundamogula Sandya, Gundamogula Srikanth and Byre Sriharsha, all natives of Chaitnyapuri Colony of Hyderabad, formed a gang and started stealing still and video cameras.

The trio lifted two cameras in Surypet police station limits, two in Khammam town limits, three in Chintapalli mandal and one in Mallepally mandal of Nalgonda district. The worth of stolen cameras is Rs 6 lakh, she added.

She further informed that police caught the offenders on the outskirts of Suryapet during a regular vehicle check while the trio was heading towards Vijayawada to sell the stolen cameras.

Police also seized the car in which offenders were traveling. DSP Sunitha Mohan, CI Mogilaiah and others attended the press meet.
