Officials told to guide farmers: Suryapet Collector
District Collector Surendra Mohan advised the officials to guide the farmers in selecting crops and in getting good yields. On Wednesday, the Collector attended as chief guest to a training programme to AEOs, ASOs, MPSOs under the aegis of Department of Agriculture.

Addressing the officials, Surendra Mohan informed that the Centre had decided to double the earnings of farmers by 2025. He stated that farmers who get loans from banks come under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
As part of the scheme, farmers have to pay 2 per cent of crop loan to the banks and the banks would pay 80 per cent when crop loss occurs due to natural disasters.
He expressed concern over the distribution of only 58 per cent of loans to farmers of the district. He advised officials to take proper care while addressing farmers’ issues and help them by giving needed guidance.
