Doctors took up one-day ‘Satyagraha Deeksha’ near the Ambedkar Centre under the auspices of the Bhadrachalam unit of Indian Medical Association protesting against the recent attacks on doctors and hospitals in various parts of the State.

Kothagudam: Doctors took up one-day ‘Satyagraha Deeksha’ near the Ambedkar Centre under the auspices of the Bhadrachalam unit of Indian Medical Association protesting against the recent attacks on doctors and hospitals in various parts of the State.

While strongly condemning the incidents, the agitating doctors demanded protection. Addressing the gathering, several doctors wanted the scrapping of National Medical Commission and revival of Medical Council of India.

Among those who took part in the protest were doctors Pavan Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Somayya, Venkat Rao, Subba Raju, Sridhar Varma, Jayabharathi, Prameela Rani, Spandana, Neelima, Ajith Reddy and Sivarama Krishna.

Meanwhile, the doctors of the Area hospital visited the Deeksha camp to extended their support. Among those who also visited the camp were CPI State Working Committee member Ravulapalli Ramprasad, Vikasa Tarangini member Gattu Venkatacharya and Lions Club secretary Gadhe Madhav Reddy.
