Receiving the orders from Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, the traffic police conducted special drive at various important locations in Khammam city here on Thursday and seized as many as 60 autos which do not have proper documents and collected the penalty worth Rs 50,000 from the owners of the auto drivers who lacked licences.

Khammam: Receiving the orders from Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, the traffic police conducted special drive at various important locations in Khammam city here on Thursday and seized as many as 60 autos which do not have proper documents and collected the penalty worth Rs 50,000 from the owners of the auto drivers who lacked licences.

Speaking on the occasion, Traffic Inspector P Naresh Reddy said the auto drivers whose autos were seized and the owners of the autos were ordered to attend a counseling session to be held at Traffic Counseling Centre at Prakashnagar on Friday.

He also said that strict instructions were passed in the past stating that auto drivers must possess all the documents required along with driving licence.

He warned the owners of the autos of stringent actions against them along with lodging cases and seizure of autos if they give their autos for rent for those who do not possess a valid driving licence.

Traffic police officials P Devandar Rao, N Prabhakar Rao, N Gautham and P Fareed Babu were present along with others in the special drive conducted on autos.
