Nalgonda: Telugu Desam leader Mothkupally Narasimhulu criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his ‘anti-farmer’ policies and said the State government had miserably failed to help the families of ryots who had committed suicides.

On Monday, Mothkupalli along with party activists conducted a day-long Rythu Deeksha in front of Nalgonda Collectorate. Addressing the party men, he said, farmers who lost their crops to pests were in financial crisis. Further aggravating their problems, the government had failed to provide Minimum Support Price to farm produces besides not extending loan waiver.

Stating that feudal system was re-emerging in villages due to Farmer Coordination Committees, Mothkupalli said the Chief Minister had announced fertiliser aid to farmers only to gain votes in 2019 elections.

Sating that the government had wasted Rs 1.20 lakh crore to favor contractors, he demanded the government to provide MSP of Rs 7,000 to cotton and Rs 3,000 to paddy besides a compensation of Rs 15,000 per acre to farmers whose crops were damaged due to pest attack.
