The DGP visited Khammam as part of his district tour programme on Friday and inspected various police stations, District Police Office and Command and Control Room. Later, he chaired a review meeting with the police officials at SP office.

Khammam: Director-General of Police (DGP) Mahendar Reddy stated that Telangana was on top in the country in maintaining peace besides law and order. The DGP visited Khammam as part of his district tour programme on Friday and inspected various police stations, District Police Office and Command and Control Room. Later, he chaired a review meeting with the police officials at SP office.

Addressing the officials, the DGP suggested some guidelines on maintaining law and order besides strengthening the police system in the district. Akin to Hyderabad, necessary measures must be taken for establishing a friendly policing system to help people utilise police services without any fear, he said, adding that with the support and cooperation of various sections of people, the police department will perform their duties perfectly and strive towards building a crime-free society.

He suggested the officials to work hard for transforming Khammam police commissionerate into model commissionerate in coming up days along with strengthening traffic and CCTV system under commissionerate limits in the district. Meanwhile, Khammam Legislator Puvvada Ajay Kumar called on the DGP and requested him for upgradation of Raghunathapalem police station to the rank of Station House Office, to wch the DGP responded positively.
