Fourteen members team of Buddhist monks of Bengaluru-based Mahabodhi Society visited Buddhavanam and Nagarjunakonda at Nagarjunasagar on Thursday. The team was headed by the Society president Kasappa Thera. They studied the structures of Mahastupa, miniature stupa park and Jathaka park located on the premises of Buddhavanam.

Nagarjunasagar: Fourteen members team of Buddhist monks of Bengaluru-based Mahabodhi Society visited Buddhavanam and Nagarjunakonda at Nagarjunasagar on Thursday. The team was headed by the Society president Kasappa Thera. They studied the structures of Mahastupa, miniature stupa park and Jathaka park located on the premises of Buddhavanam.

They examined the proposed place for setting up a Buddhist cultural centre at Nagarjunasagar and expressed their pleasure over setting up of Buddhavanam. They visited the Nagarjunakonda and offered prayers at Buddhist site. They predicted that Nagarjunasagar would emerge as one of the famous Buddhist places in the world.
