Suryapet: Collector Surendra Mohan informed that a special sand policy is being designed to maintain transparency. Chairing a meeting with Mining and Revenue department officials at Collectorate on Wednesday, the Collector informed that to avoid illegal sand transportation, a software was being designed in such a way that people get sand delivered at their doorstep after they book the request through Mee Seva centres or call centres.

According to this policy, tractors identified by the Revenue department will be monitored through GPS system. He instructed the officials concerned to prepare plans for sand tax system. Stating that there was a scarcity of sand, he ordered the officials to utilise the sand properly for government schemes.

Stringent action would be taken against illegal sand transporters, he underlined, directing the officials to make available the sand required for the developmental works in the district.Joint Collector Sanjeeva Reddy, DRO Yadi Reddy, Mines AD Venkateshwarlu, RDO Mohan Rao, AO Pradyumna, Tahsildars and Mining officials took part in the meeting.
