Hailstorm creates havoc in Narayanpet mandal
The hailstorm accompanied by gusty winds created havoc in Narayanpet mandal in Mahbubnagar district on Monday. In just 45 minutes of rain, the drain started overflowing and roads were inundated, bringing the traffic to a halt.

“We had never seen such a sudden change in the weather conditions in the recent past. People ran helter-skelter,” said Palla Hanmantu, a resident of Narayanpet. Banda Gonda village under Narayanpet constituency was worse hit. Stand crops in the village were damaged.
The intensity of the hailstorm was very high and farmers are worried that if such sudden change in climate happens, it will cause a huge damage to the standing crops. As paddy is ready for harvest, the farmers in the district are worried that more such hailstorms may destroy their standing crops.
