Khammam: Minister for Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao here on Monday expressed happiness over Telangana State attracting national attention as it had achieved development within a short period after the formation of the State.

Rama Rao, accompanied by Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy and Health Minister C Laxma Reddy, laid foundation stones for several development activities and inaugurated various works here in Khammam on Monday.

The Minister inaugurated the MLA camp office-cum- residence here at VDO colony and TASK centre along with the Telangana Talli statue at bypass road near NTR Circle and laid foundation stone for the construction of new market near the railway station.

Speaking at a public meeting organised on the occasion, Rama Rao said the TRS government was the only government in the country, which was giving topmost priority to the welfare of people. He said several welfare activities were launched in the State.

He said the State government was providing pensions to 42 lakhs people by spending Rs 4,000 crore. Apart from it, the government was providing subsidised rice to the poor. With an aim to provide safe drinking water to every household, the government took up the massive project Mission Bhagiratha which would be completed very soon, he assured.

Speaking at another public meeting in Madhira, Rama Rao said by seeing the enormous growth just in four years, even people of Andhra Pradesh were appreciating Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The People in Andhra Pradesh even requested the Chief Minister to launch the TRS in that State, he said.Coming heavily on Congress party, KTR said the bus yatra launched by the Congress party is the last yatra for the Congress leaders.

For 67 years the Congress party had done nothing to the farming sector in the country and even in the State. The Congress party, which brought Independence to the country was a different one to the existing Congress party which is loaded with the leaders who are deceiving the innocent people, he criticised.

The MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, City Mayor Dr. Papa Lal, ZP chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, SC corporation chairman Pidamarthi Ravi, District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar were present along with others.
