Khammam: The District Administration has made elaborate arrangements for the launch of the Rythu Bandhu Scheme on May 10 in 380 villages in the district.

Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao will launch the scheme in Arempula village under Khammam Rural mandal at 11.15 am. Officials identified government schools to set up centres for distribution of cheques and pattadar passbooks to the farmers.

A control room has been established at the District Collectorate to enable the farmers to contact the officials in case of any difficulty. The officials of Agriculture, Revenue and Police Departments have been geared up to ensure that the scheme is launched without any hitch.

Meanwhile, the officials after scrutiny rejected nearly 2,537 cheques due to various reasons. Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkat Veeraiah voluntarily gave up input subsidy.

The amounts to be received by them would be deposited in Rythu Bandhu Trust, they said. The Minister at a meeting held on Tuesday said that it was only in Telangana State that the Rythu Bandhu scheme was being implemented in the country.
