Khammam: Training classes will be conducted for the farmers by experts and scientists on various aspects of cultivation for getting maximum yield, said District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Tuesday.

In a statement released here, the Collector said that the farmers, belonging to the Scheduled Castes, would be given training on modern methods and techniques to be adopted in cultivation of various crops, advantages of soil testing, selection of better variety seeds, usage of traditional fertilisers, crop rotation methods and the judicious use of water resources.

Agriculture and Horticulture scientists, besides the officials of underground water, Electricity, Rural Development, Animal husbandry and Fisheries Departments would participate in the programme, he said.

During the training period, the farmers would be educated about the advanced methods to be adopted in manufacturing of agriculture related products, rearing of fish and milch animals.

The farmers, who are interested, may submit their applications with mobile numbers at the office of the Scheduled Castes Cooperative Society Limited, Welfare Bhavan, at Bhurhanpuram in Khammam before June 6, he said.
