He was a Deputy Commercial Tax Officer in the united Andhra Pradesh. Unable to bear the injustices being meted out to the Telangana employees, Ram Reddy resigned from his post in 1958. Since then his ambition is to see Telangana free from the clutches of Andhra rulers.

He saw 1969 struggle and the decade-long struggle in which hundreds of youngsters had sacrificed their lives. At last his long-cherished desire became a reality with the formation of separate Telangana four years ago.

Entire Telangana has been busy celebrating it since then. The government of Telangana has felicitated many people who fought for it, but Telangana Ram Reddy’s name is cleanly forgotten by the so-called leaders and the authorities who are about to celebrate June 2 once again.

State Junior Lecturers former president M V Gona Reddy speaking on the sacrifices of Ram Reddy to The Hans India said, “Though four years lapsed since the formation of Telangana, the State government except giving some financial assistance Telangana Ram Reddy was not honoured on the formation of Telangana State. As such, his sacrifice has not been recognised by the Telangana State government properly.

villagers of Rami Reddy’s native place Gudlapally under Mattampally mandal of Suryapet district has been requesting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to honour him on June 2. Honour the Telangana Ram Reddy means honouring all those who fought for separate Telangana, they added.
