Rs 100 cr given to housing beneficiaries

Khammam: District Collector Siddharth Jain has said that a sum of Rs 100 were deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries of Rajiv Housing Scheme for the year 2012-13. The Collector, at a meeting held at his Camp Office here on Tuesday, reviewed the progress of works under Rajiv Housing Scheme in the district. He directed the officials to take measures to complete the given targets. He said that 19,436 houses were completed in 2011-12 and 27,362 houses were completed in 2012-13 which included 3,774 houses in the month of February alone. In February, 2013, an amount of Rs 10.62 cr was given to beneficiaries. An amount of Rs 3.35 cr was sanctioned to provide basic amenities at Indiramma Housing colonies. Certain problems relating to construction of 20,000 houses were solved for 2012-13 year and the works would be speeded up in these cases. He directed the work inspectors and engineers (AEs, DEs and EEs) to take initiative for the completion of houses which were sanctioned during the financial year 2012-13.
