Mateti Venu Gopal ramaBhadrachalam: All arrangements for the grand celebration of Sri Rama Navami festivities at Srirama temple in the town were made. Rama Navami, the celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama and Goddess Sita, would be held on April 19 and the coronation of Lord Sri Rama would be on April 20. The celestial marriage celebration would be held at the Kalyana Mandapam at Midhila Stadium in the town which was constructed in 1967 under the supervision of well-known sculptor Ganapathi Sthapathi from Chennai. The stadium, including Kalyana Mandapam, was constructed as per the traditions of Agama Sastra, Silpa Sastra and Vasthu Sastra. Special sculptures were carved on the pillars and other places of the stadium. Stones for sculpting were brought from Tindivanam in Tamil Nadu and some stones which were used at the lower part of the mandapam were found locally. According to Executive Officer and other officials, around 2.5 lakh people from different places across the country are expected to witness the festival. The temple and its surroundings were divided into 15 sectors and 30,000 devotees can directly view the marriage celebration at the mandapam. Tickets will be issued ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 3,000. Various categories of tickets (other than Rs 3,000 tickets) are available at various banks, the officials said to The Hans India. Eight counters for the selling of Prasadam (laddus) would be arranged. Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would participate in the festivities along with their family members. So, police have made elaborate security arrangements for the visit of the VVIPs. There would be a procession (Edurkol) on the evening of April 18 which would attract large number of devotees. The deities would be taken in a procession on palanquins which would be decorated with colourful flowers and lights. On April 19, there would be Suprabhatha Seva followed by Aradhana Seva and other special poojas at the temple. The marriage celebration would be held at Kalyana Mandapam between 10.30 am and 12.00 noon on April 19. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would offer Pattu Vasthrams to the celestial couple. Later, there would be procession of the deities on the four streets around the temple in the evening. The Coronation of the Lord would be held between 10.30 am to 12.00 noon on April 20 at the mandapam. Governor ESL Narasimhan and other VVIPs would attend the festival on the day. The festivities would continue up to April 26.
