Khammam: In another incident of transgression in the Engineering department at Nagarjuna Sagar project on Thursday, an employee was found drawing two salaries for a single job for the last 5 years. The deliquency went unnoticed for these many years. The crime was discovered Ionly during Thursday’s audit by the auditing officials. According to sources, the employee had drawn an excess amount of Rs 16 lakhs rupees during this period.
According to sources, Venkatakrishna had been working as a work inspector at Huzoornagar sub division in Nalgonda division. As per records, throughout, he has been paid his salary in cash. But, every month an equal amount of approximately 25 to 30 thousand rupees has been additionally credited into his bank account. This has been happening for the last five years.
It is suspected that there are many people involved in this crime. In a justification given by Venkatakrishna, he used to draw his salary in cash only. But, the Senior Assistant at Khammam EE Office, Srinivasa Rao used to deposit the amount in his bank account, every month towards the payment of a "Chitti".
