anualdayVijayawada: The Krishna University Vice-Chancellor, Prof V Venkaiah, here on Friday, asked the students to spread the knowledge that they acquire in class rooms. Speaking at the annual day celebrations of the Montessori Mahila Kalasala, Prof Venkaiah wanted the students to take the knowledge to the society and contribute for its growth. He felt that knowledge should not be restricted to the class rooms and examination centres. He advised the students to share their knowledge and information with the people in the society and thus empower the society. He asked the students to make best use of the classroom to acquire knowledge, communication, management and other skills that would help them come up in life and face challenges in the society. The Distance Education Centre director of the University of Hyderabad, Dr S Jilani, expressed concern over low percentage of students pursuing higher education. He said that in India only 15 per cent of the students were getting into higher education, while it is more than 23 per cent in other countries, particularly in the developed nations. The Montessori educational institutions correspondent Dr V Koteswaramma was in the chair. The college principal, S Padmavathi, presented the college annual report.
