Gaiety marks Holi celebrations

Vijayawada: Religious fervour and gaiety marked Holi celebrations here on Wednesday in the city in which youth, middle aged and elderly took part. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Praveen Kumar and his family celebrated Holi at his residence, Rail House. The Lambadi Samaj organised celebrations at Tummalapallli Kalakshetram in which more than 100 people participated. One Town and Labbipet Sindhi Samaj people celebrated the occasion with their family and friends. Youth ventured onto the roads and had full fun with the colours and wished the by-passers. But the Officers Club was empty as the officials did not celebrate Holi as they are busy with their works. The police and medical departments were alert to avoid any untoward incident during the celebrations.
