Sharmila praises NTR as people's leader

Gudivada (Krishna): YSR Congress leader Y S Sharmila who is on 'Maro Praja Prasthanam' padayatra in Krishna district described N T Rama Rao and Y S Rajasekhar Reddy as people's leaders unlike Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu. Addressing an impressive crowd here on Saturday, Sharmila said that both the late leaders had come from the people, understood their problems and designed policies for their welfare. She said that people would remember and worship the two leaders for generations together for their welfare programmes. However, on the other hand, Naidu had become a leader through the backdoor, she said and alleged that he assumed power by betraying the late NTR and his family. She thanked Gudivada legislator, Kodali Nani and other legislators who supported the YSR Congress when the party was in crisis. Kodali Nani, who organised the programme, justified his action of publishing NTR and Junior NTR photos on the flexi banners of the YSR Congress. He said that every person in the State has the right to use NTR's photograph except Chandrababu Naidu. He said that Chandrababu Naidu had disowned NTR, removed him from the party president post and expelled him through the August 1995 coup.
