Kurnool : Minister for Minor Irrigation T G Venkatesh said here on Wednesday that the exit polls conducted in Karnataka were proved to be true and the Congress won the elections.

Addressing newsmen, the minister said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Union Minister Chiranjivi, State ministers and he participated in the electioneering in Karnataka. He attributed the victory to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Following the elections results in Karnataka, the opposition in the State was in total dilemma and the Congress leaders who left the party were planning the return to the partyfold.A He said that the chief minister has been innovative in introducing programmes and very good in implementing them. However, he is not interested in getting propaganda for his work, he said.

The minister said that the ministers would be appointed in-charge of various districts soon. A Reacting to a question, he said that CBI had arrested the nephew of a Union Minister proving that it was not working in favour of the Congress party.

He said that the chief minister would be visiting the district on May 11. He appealed to the people to make the programme a grand success.
