Kurnool: Youth of Maddikera Agraharam village in Maddikera mandal in the district look forward for an opportunity to join armed forces. Already about 150 persons have joined various forces like Army, Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in addition to the one hundred persons serving in Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) and civil police throughout the State. Their parents, too, do not hesitate to send their wards to join the armed forces. Moreover, they feel proud that their children are protecting the country from aggression. Ravi Kumar, a student, said that four youths joined in the Army fifty years ago setting a trend for the youth to follow. He says that they are proud so many from their village joined the armed forces. "Even the youth of other villages are also taking a cue from our village," he added. The youth of the village said that if amenities like sports facility and a gymnasium were provided, more and more youth would join the army. Bhaskar, Army jawan, who is visiting the village on leave said that they are proud that they are part of the armed forces to protect the mother land. They exhorted people to join armed forces instead of getting disheartened for not securing jobs. The village remains backward so far. But the villagers feel happy that the people of their villages were in the armed forces.
