Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday responded to the political development where top Congress leadership passed a resolution in New Delhi to grant Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.
Demanding that if SCS was going to be granted to AP, the same should also be extended to his state, he questioned whether the Congress leadership remain silent if any injustice is done to Telangana.
Addressing a gathering in Sangareddy, Harish Rao said Centre has already extended national status to Polavaram Project located in AP, but none of the projects in Telangana were accorded the same even after demanding for long.
He further said that industries will be moved to Andhra if SCS is given to AP alone causing injustice to Telangana. The Minister also asked if the state Congress leaders support SC status for Andhra at the cost of Telangana.
