To promote the use of clay Ganesh idols, the leading English daily The Hans India has organised a campaign of making clay Ganesh idols in association with Olive Mithai Shop. The workshop is organised today at Children Park area in Lanco Hills near Manikonda at 11 am where the art of making of Ganesh idols from clay is being taught. The idols will also be distributed to the people at free of cost.

Many people including the children have turned up at the venue to take part in the campaign and get the eco-friendly Ganesh idols.

In the past few years, the use of clay idols of Ganesh has been widely promoted to replace the idols being made by Plaster of Paris which causes harm to aquatic species and do not dissolve in water easily. Meanwhile, the demand for clay Ganesh has also increased for the last two years.
