The Secunderabad Railway Station has bagged National Tourism Award for being the most tourist-friendly station on Indian Railways.

Secunderabad divisional railway manager Amit Varadan and station director D Vasudeva Reddy received the award from Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons at Vigyan Bhavan on Thursday.

It is worth mentioning here that Secunderabad Railway Station is one among the most digitalised stations in India with free wi-fi facility, escalators, elevators, Automatic ticket vending machines and so on.

The fort-like structure of Secunderabad railway station was built by Nizam in 1874.
