Continuing the diatribe against the State and Central governments for failing the people of Andhra Pradesh on Special Category Status SCS and other assurances given during the bifurcation of the state, YSR Congress has said that the fight will continue till the goal is achieved
Continuing the diatribe against the State and Central governments for failing the people of Andhra Pradesh on Special Category Status (SCS) and other assurances given during the bifurcation of the state, YSR Congress has said that the fight will continue till the goal is achieved.
The voice of the people of the State had found roaring applause in the national capital with Parliament being in session and the Party senior leaders, MPs and former MPs holding Vanchana pai Garjana at Jantar Mantar here on Thursday highlighting the betrayal of Chandrababu Naidu and Narendra Modi governments on the SCS issue despite being together for over four years.
The leaders said that Naidu had given up the SCS issue along with BJP and Pawan Kalyan and what the TDP has been trumpeting of late is just ridiculous. It is only to cover up their failures during the over four year alliance that the ruling Party has been striving to project with lack of conviction. The Dharma Porata Deeksha lacks sincerity and people of the state will not forgive Chandrababu Naidu, they said.
Holding the two governments responsible for the plight of the people in the state, the leaders said, it was YSRCP that has first taken the decision to move the no confidence motion against the Centre and the Party MPs had quit the Lower House in protest while TDP did not join them at a time when things were moving in favour of the state but had quit when it suited the personal agenda of TDP leadership and joined hands with Congress.
‘Even now we our stand is the same on SCS and if TDP leaders are sincere they can join us and we shall walk to Prime Minister’s house to raise the issue,’ they said.
Our Party has fought on SCS in both the Houses and maintained a clear stand from the beginning without any deviation or diluting it. Though TDP leadership has questioned whether SCS is a wonder drug, the reply is in the affirmative as it ushers in major development in the form of industries and employment, they said.
After being named in the cash for vote scam, Chandrababu Naidu had hurriedly shifted base to Vijayawada and his rampant corruption has come to the fore on numerous occasions from luring opposition legislators to financing elections in other states. The escalation of cost of Polavaram stands a testimony of his hallmark corruption, they said.
We had taken up the SCS issue at various forums and at multiple venues earlier while Chandrababu Niadu had put hurdles and tried to foil all our protests and now he has been singing a different tune and we firmly state that Narendra Modi, Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan had jointly betrayed the people of the state on SCS and other issues mentioned in the State Reorganisation Bill, they said.
After the 2019 elections, indications are that there would be a coalition government and we will support only that dispensation that would assure us unequivocally on SCS and we will emerge as a force to reckon with and Chandrababu Naidu will bite the dust, they said.
Among those who spoke at the venue include, YV Subba Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, C Ramachandriah, Jogi Ramesh, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and others.
