After a 291 feet long national flag hoisted at Sanjeevaiah park in Hyderabad, Karimnagar district in Telangana is going to hoist the second tallest tricolour on December 31 with a height of 150 feet.

The Karimnagar Municipal Corporation has also finalised the venue. The flag will be installed at multipurpose school ground where the recreation park is also being set up. Around Rs 60 lakh has been spent on the flagpole. And for the inauguration ceremony, the municipal body is contemplating to invite TRS working president KT Rama Rao as a chief guest.

The TRS government on June 2, 2016 hoisted the country's largest national flag on the banks of the Hussian Sagar at Sanjeevaiah park in Hyderabad by spending Rs 3 crore.
