As a Citizen of Indian it's my birth right to Vote. And my vote to this country counts and it matters.

This year we are celebrating the 9th National Voters Day i.e January 25. It is also the day when the country's Election Commission was founded in 1950. The National Voters Day is celebrated to encourage more and more young people to participate in the country's election process and increase voter enrolment. The Day is to spread awareness among the voters and promote informed participation during the elections.

The chief guest of the Nation Voters Day function was President Ram Nath Kovind. The function was held in New Delhi, it was organised by the Election commision of India. Chief Election Commissioners and senior officials from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Russia and Srilanka were also present.

This year keeping in mind not to miss the a single voter the day was celebrated covering six lakh locations approximately ten lakh polling stations across the country. Each voter was alloted with their electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) on the National Voters Day. Also on this special day, the National Awards were awarded for the Best Electoral practices to the officers for thir outstanding performances produced during the ongoing elections.

In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, No voter Behind has been selected as the theme for National Voter's Day.
