Hyderabad: IT industry is ever changing and it is important here to keep learning new skills and reskilling in the existing domain areas. An emerging technology that is offering a new opportunity is that of Blockchain. To offer growth opportunities in this area, Digithon has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Seattle based Blockchain university. The partnership will involve Digithon to create awareness across India on the programmes of the university and provide access to the programmes to the students. Telangana Information Technology Association will be a partner in this initiative along with JNTU.

In this direction, Digithon CEO Sundeep Kumar Makthala and Blockchain University Country Head Akash Bansal signed a MoU on Monday.

As a part of this programme, there will be a 24-hour hackathon, industry tour and training programme. Students will be given exposure on technology by interacting with those working on the Blockchain technology. The students will also get a chance to know and understand the work culture in the IT parks.

Digithon CEO Sundeep Kumar Makthala during his visit to the US last year visited several universities and has been discussing collaboration opportunities with Blockchain University since then. The first batch will have 80 students who get exposure to live projects in addition to Walk with IT Expert in IT park with guidance on the IT work ecosystem. While such programmes are usually expensive, TITA, Digithon and Blockchain University are offering the programme at Rs 2499 per candidate. At the end of the day's programme, the candidates will get certificates. Those who are already working in the industry could see a possibility of salary hikes after the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Sundeep Kumar Makthala said, Indian students will be benefited by the global knowledge the Blockchain University can bring through the programme. With Blockchain leading to emergence of cryptocurrency, the technology has abundant growth prospects.

Blockchain University Country Head Akash Bansal said Digithon which has worked in the areas of digital literacy, digital villages and promoting digital transactions in the rural areas is the right partner for its programme.
