Hyderabad: CMD TSTRANSCO & TSGENCO D.Prabhakar Rao made a surprise inspection of the on-going 220 KV High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) Conductor works today at Shivarampally and instructed officials to complete the works on war footing for providing Quality and Reliable Power Supply to the Consumers of Hyderabad City and to avoid inconvenience to general public.
On this occasion, CMD/ TSTRANSCO informed that, as per the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao Garu, in view of corridor/space constraint for expansion of EHV Network in Hyderabad, TSTransco has taken up the HTLS works in the twin cities in the vicinity of 400KV Mamidipally SS, 220KV Shivarampally SS, 220KV Shapurnagar, 400KV Malkaram SS, 220KV Gachbowli SS, 400KV Shankarpally SS with an investment of around Rs.100 crores. Out of this investment of Rs.100 crores, TSTransco will receive the amount of Rs.59.0 crores in the form of Grant from the Power System Development Fund(PSDF).
These HTLS works are expected to relieve the transmission congestion of existing overloaded 220KV Transmission lines in Hyderabad. The implementation of this creative solution is a boon to the City, which will avoid the construction of new 220KV Lines in the space constrained city. HTLS conductor is capable of carrying the double the load of the conventional conductor.
TSTRANSCO has taken up the task of strengthening the 7No.s 220KV Lines (aggregating to a total of 136 circuit kilometers) by replacing the conventional ACSR (Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced) conductor with High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) Conductor with a total investment of Rs.100 crores. The 220KV Lines are (i) 220 KV Mamidipally – Sivarampally SC(18.5 ckm) (ii) 220 KV HIAL – Sivarampally SC Line(16.5 ckm) (iii) 220KV Mamidipally-HIAL – Circuit-I (3ckm) (iv) 220KV Mamidipally-HIAL – Circuit-II (3ckm) (v) 220 KV Malkaram – Shapurnagar DC Line(42ckm) (vi)220 KV Gachibowli – Shankarpalli–I Line(29ckm) (vii) 220 KV Gachibowli – Shankarpalli – II Line(24ckm).
After inspecting the ongoing HTLS works on 220KV line between 220KV HIAL SS to – 220KV Shivarampally SS for a length of 16.5 ckm, the CMD/TSTransco directed the officials to expedite the works. CMD also instructed the Contracting agency to gear up more machinery and engage adequate man power to complete the works well before the time schedule to cater to the increasing demand in view of upcoming scorching summer.
During the inspection, TSTransco Directors, T.Jagath Reddy, J.Suryaprakash, CE Vivekananda, SE Ramaraju were present.
