Amaravati: It's a big setback for YSR Congress party in Kakinada, the prominent leader Chalamalasetty Sunil has quit the party and joined TDP on Friday. Sunil joined the Telugu Desam in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
In 2014 elections Sunil has contested for Kakinada Parliament segment from YSRCP. CM Chandrababu has welcomed Chalamalasetty Sunil, Thota Subbarao Naidu into the party by facilitating them with TDP shawl.
Along with Sunil, corporators Kampara Ramesh, Palaka Suryakumari, Mutyala Srinivas, P Sitaram, Badiga Sridevi, Korah Jayaraj, and other leaders have joined TDP.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Naidu said that the young leaders like Chalamalasetty Sunil joining TDP for the cause of development of the state and appreciated him for the decision.
With the joining of so many prominent leaders, Naidu expressed confidence of winning the Kakinada Parliamentary Constituency once again.
