They still attract only the local crowd and hardly the foreigners, not greatly profiting the tourist industry. Also, they are concentrated in a few cities that make travelling a difficult process.

Does one consider only a scenic hill top for vacation? A place that offers an experience that is culturally and historically fulfilling or a place that is romantic and pleasant? Not often do we hear people discussing their vacation only encompassed of the thrill rides. In other words, amusement parks are only a source of adventure in the country. They are slowly moving up the ladder for giving a good run for ones money; not fast yet.

India is yet to produce amusement parks that are viable and attract a wide variety of audience. It is no doubt true that a large number of people indulge in the present amusement parks, but they do not cater to people of every age? They still attract only the local crowd and hardly the foreigners, not greatly profiting the tourist industry. Also, they are concentrated in a few cities that make travelling a difficult process.

The problem at hand, however, is that why our parks are not making the headlines of any newspaper? What do we lack that Disney theme parks and Six Flags have? World’s largest roller coaster, perhaps. Yet it is worth mentioning that our thrill parks are large, consist of an average of 20 rides in every park, include exhilarating water rides, and other attractions such as skating rinks, wax museums, dance floors and gaming zones. People do flock to a 100 meter roller coaster drop faster than they go to watch performing artists, which is exactly what sets us apart from the foreigners. It is a potpourri of fun that we’re looking for which we find in a dozen amusement parks of the country. A place which inherently calls for breathtaking and eye-popping rides is combined with a touch of our culture in their alleys of arts, crafts and performers.
If you’re planning a vacation there are places like Wonderla, Kingdom of Dreams and Essel World that won’t disappoint you. Some which promise fun are closer than your expect. So keep a lookout for the newer parks. Maybe they will surprise you this summer.
