Pet as a Family, Not a Status symbol: Have you ever wondered what it is like to have someone waiting for you at home and him/her being the happiest being alive at your arrival, you getting the biggest hug from that being or welcomed to the being purring as you pet and pamper them with love

Have you ever wondered what it is like to have someone waiting for you at home and him/her being the happiest being alive at your arrival, you getting the biggest hug from that being or welcomed to the being purring as you pet and pamper them with love, it is almost so overwhelming that you don’t even have the heart to leave it like that for a very long time. Be it a bird a dog or a cat, this is exactly the kind of feeling you get when you have a pet companion, to have someone just be with you and not judging you for anything. It is the greatest feeling to see in someone. To have someone love you in a way that you’ve never experienced before is something hard to get and with pets these feelings come across right away. They say until one loves an animal, a part of their soul remains unawake. They give you their everything and in return ask you for nothing but your compassion and attention. Having them as a family is not only a joy but it also teaches you a different kind of compassion altogether, it makes you a better person in whole are one starts appreciating things differently and takes away your loneliness. One simply doesn’t get a pet, one brings a four legged or a feather headed family member in their home

However these days having pets has become something of a hobby or a status symbol or even turned into a business which is cruel and inhumane at a lot of levels, one needs to understand that these are living beings that have feelings and expressions and need your attention and love, they are to be had as family members not as showcase material. There are other things one can show their status symbols with like cars, shelf items such as glassware, home décor etc. Also many have now made breeding a business, not that there is anything wrong in being a breeder but these days lot of breeds use pets as puppy producing machines which is not only painful but sad to watch as the young mother are constantly being impregnated without a basic care towards their health and their condition. These inhuman conditions sometimes give out handicapped puppies which are most of the time starved or put to death as soon as they are born because in their eyes, these are not just puppies, they are products for purchase and no one likes to buy broken goods.

We however do have a lot of people who love pets as much are they love their own family and are also making sure that they give voice to the unheard and mute bundles of joy. Shelter organizations like Blue Cross, Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Society etc have always cared rescued and helped in creating awareness about pets being family not a status symbol or a business or something you can be cruel to.
