Takes holy dip at Manjira during Kumbh Mela

Medak : Prominent spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar took a holy dip in the Manjira River here on Thursday along with thousands of devotees who participated in the Kumbh Mela. The guru called upon the Hindus to strive for strengthening the traditional rituals, dharma and practices of the religion.

Delivering a discourse after visiting the 'Kumbh Mela' on the banks of the Manjira River after offering prayers in the temple, he underlined the importance of every person being happy by propagating a spiritual outlook in the society. Such outlook, Ravishankar stressed, would help people shun evil thoughts and practices.

He expressed anguish over the Inidan youth getting attracted to the western way of living and forgetting the traditional Indian culture. There is more hatred being seen in the society among the fellow human beings because of loss of faith and trust. A spiritual outlook by the people could only keep away from developing such brutal tendencies.

Ravishankar, who took a holy dip in the River, observed that the ongoing Kumbh Mela, the second such event in the country, is a spiritual event that brings people together and generates devotion and faith. Thousands of people are visiting the mela and are taking sacred bath in the river, after offering special prayers to the Gods.
