cmSuryapet: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday sought to assure people that the difficult power situation would be overcome shortly and the government was taking all possible steps to mitigate the difficulties. Speaking at a public meeting here after inaugurating the newly built Agricultural Marketing Yard, the Chief Minister said that while the previous governments hid the reality, he was telling the truth to the people. He said, "I always tell the truth unlike Chandrababu Naidu who always tells lies whether in power or out of power." He claimed that the he was honestly trying to uplift the back castes and the women. Earlier, he inaugurated the Agriculture Market Yard built at a cost of about Rs. 17 crores on arrival from Hyderabad on a helicopter. He also laid foundation stones to various welfare schemes to be implemented at a cost of Rs. 396.56 crores. The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy came in for full some praise from local MLA R Damodar Reddy and other ministers who spoke at the public meeting. Speaking at the public meeting, Damodar Reddy describe the Chief Minister as a man of development and said he would strive hard to make him Chief Minister again after 2014 elections. Damodar Reddy said the Chief Minister sanctioned all the welfare programs he proposed for the development of Suryapet constituency and laid foundation stones. "I have not seen such welfare oriented Chief Minister in my long political life," he said. Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Sunita Lakshma Reddy who spoke at the public meeting showered praise on the Chief Minister and said previously the Chief Ministers used to give assurances in their district tours but Kiran Kumar Reddy was touring the districts after fulfilling the assurances. Agriculture Minister K Jana Reddy urged upon the CM to complete the Srisailam tunnel canal to provide drinking water to the fluoride-affected people of the district. Some people raised pro Telangana slogans when the Chief Minister started speaking. They tried to disrupt his speech but the police forcible took them away. Earlier some leaders of the TRS were taken in to custody in Nakrekal apprehending that they try to disrupt the Chief Minister's public meeting at Suryapet.
