Interacting with media persons, Azad sounded confident that the Telangana Congress MPs would not leave the party. At a time when speculation is rife that some Telangana Congress MPs are set to desert the party and may join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Azad said that no Congress MP would desert the party, virtually playing down the threat. Azad said at the upcoming meeting of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana on April 18, only political issues would come up for discussion. The welfare measures being implemented in the state will come up for review. At the meeting, a roadmap for the upcoming elections will also be drawn up. The idea is to prepare the party for the polls in the state. Despite the uphill task in the state, the Congress is confident of acquitting itself well in the elections. Venkat Parsa
