Bitti Mohanty's father is innocent: Kerala cops

Cuttack (PTI): The special investigation team (SIT) of Kerala police on Saturday gave a clean chit to former Odisha DGP B B Mohanty in the impersonation and forgery cases against his rape convict son Bitihotra Mohanty. "We could not get any evidence against B B Mohanty. He has no role to play in impersonation and forgery cases against his son Bitti," said Kerala police team leader Josi Joseph after questioning the retired IPS officer for about four hours. Replying to a question, Joseph ruled out booking the retired IPS officer in the impersonation and forgery cases against his son. A The Kerala Police has been investigating Bittihotra Mohanty, who allegedly worked as a probationary officer at a public sector bank at Kannur impersonating as Raghav Rajan from Andhra Pradesh. Raghav Rajan was arrested by Kerala police on March 8 following a tip off that he was Bittihotra Mohanty, who had jumped parole from a jail at Alwar in December 2006. A Kerala police during its visit to Odisha have found that Bittihotra had forged his certificates from school level up to B Tech degree from a private university.
