CPI-M pulls up Achuthanandan

The CPI-M Friday pulled up its senior leader and former Kerala chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan for making "baseless" and "unwarranted" charges related to the party.

"Achuthanandan has made certain allegations in a television interview regarding party matters which were already decided in the party," said a statement from the Communist Party of India-Marxist.

"Hence these charges are baseless and unwarranted. Achuthanandan should desist from making such uncalled for remarks in public," it added, without specifying what the veteran party leader had said.

Achuthanandan is known to lead one of the two main factions in the CPI-M in Kerala.
