Sisodia: Parents should be empowered to suspend teachers

New Delhi: The Education Minister of Delhi state, Manish Sisodia on Monday said that parents should be empowered to suspend and eliminate principal and teachers. He was on a surprise visit to a government school on Monday.

Sisodia said during the interaction with the students, he learnt the fact that the principal and teachers do not come to school on time and he also saw students teaching each other and conducting examinations.

Speaking to the media channels, Sisodia said that he was informed by the students that one of the teacher of the government school to which he was on a surprise visit was absent from last Monday. However, in the attendance register he saw all teachers have signed for all days.

He was also worried for the mid-day meals, in which insects were found. Also, the quality of the food was very poor. "The person who supplies the food is making good money, so it is high time that the power needs to be given to parents to cancel the supplier’s license," said Sisodia.

He said he would ensure strict action against all the defaulters.
