Bulandshahr: 'Abhiyukt Kuttey Hain' (the accused is a dog), says a report lodged in a police station in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh.

In an ususual happening, police have registered a case against a stray dog for biting retired sub-inspector of Delhi Police Vijay Singh on February 13 and detained the canine. A case has been registered under section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of the IPC at Gulaothi Police Station here, Circle Officer Shailendra Singh Rathore said.
The retired cop had lodged a complaint that was bitten by a stray dog, he said.
The police report mentions 'Abhiyukt Kuttey Hain' (the accused is a dog).
An FIR filed against the dog says it is a menace and that it bit former inspector Vijay Yadav while he was visiting his native village of Sanota.
"Yadav had been trying to get justice for more than three months and has even written to the district Superintendent of Police and the District Magistrate about the reign of terror that the dog had unleashed in his village," says an NDTV report.
The dog is not behind bars, but he seems to have been adopted by the Gulawathi police station, and is being well fed and looked after, adds the NDTV report.
