Jayaprada To Contest From Muradabad Constituency on Congress Ticket. Jayaprada, the Tolly-Bollywood actress of yesteryears has been actively involved in politics since 1996. In the beginning, it was the Telugu Desam Party that gave her a chance.
Jayaprada, the Tolly-Bollywood actress of yesteryears has been actively involved in politics since 1996. In the beginning, it was the Telugu Desam Party that gave her a chance. Later, she joined Samajvadi Party and got elected from UP. Now, after quitting SP, she eyes on Congress Party ticket. She even eyes the constituency of Moradabad. Azharuddin is the sitting Member of Parliament of this constituency.
Jayaprada joined Telugu Desam party in the year 1984 on the request of late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. However, she has been actively involved in politics only from 1996. She won the Loksabha elections twice from Rampur constituency on SP ticket.
However, after coming out from SP, now she didn’t find any place in her own state Andhra Pradesh. As Azharuddin is planning to contest from some other constituency, it is learnt that Jayaprada has requested the Congress party high command for allocating the same to her for the looming 2014 general elections.
