Chhapra, June 25: At least 72 trains have been affected due to the derailment of the Dibrugarh Express in the early hours of this morning, according to Additional Director General (ADG) PR, Railways, Anil Saxena.

Adding to the woes of passengers, another 25 trains have been cancelled and many others diverted.
"Due to this accident 72 trains have been affected of the north central and east central railways, out of this 25 have been totally cancelled, 24 have been partially terminated and around 23 have been diverted," said Saxena.
Talking about the track restoration process he added, "A special train carrying all the passengers of the Dibrugar Express has left from here and the track restoration is going on well. I hope by the evening we will be able to restore the track."
He also told the media that the severely injured passengers have been shifted from the Chhapra civil hospital to the Patna medical college.
At least four people were killed and eight others injured when the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani express derailed this morning at around 2.15 am near Chhapra.
