In view of the ongoing assembly polls in the Jammu and Kashmir, Congress Vice President Rahul Ghandi addressed an election rally in North Kashmir’s Lolab valley today.

While addressing the election gathering Rahul attacked the Bhartia Janta Party of creating a divide in India. Rahul said that Congress Party in its previous tenure concreted the fabric of Indian union and now Narendra Modi led BJP government in Delhi is busy in creating divides in that union. Treating BJP wave as absolute bogus, Rahul said that the party is finding its place in the ‘’nowhere’’ corners of the state and Lotus wave is just an illusion.

Taking note of the developments that Congress did under Manmohan government, Rahul said that the flagship programme of Food Security Bill and other developmental reforms remained unaccomplished in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and to accomplish all those major targets, they need the support of the people of state. Rahul said, ‘’as coalition partner of National Conference in state, our government could do nothing and once we are ample strong to form the government here, we will ensure maximum development in minimum time.’’

Speaking on the health affairs, Rahul said that their government will open up new medical colleges in the state once they come to power.

J and K Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Prof Said Ud Din Soz while speaking on the occasion said that, the congress believes in development and prosperity and the party has worked on the core areas of development with full dedication and hard work. While appealing the people of Lolab, Prof Soz said that to bring Lolab on the forefront of development people should vote and support their party. Prof Soz while attacking Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that during his five year previous tenure, the state derailed from the route of development and because of which the people of state suffered in a long run.

Prof Soz also attacked media of turning Modi-centric.

AICC General Secretary and Incharge Jammu and Kashmir Affairs Ambika Soni and District President Kupwara Congress Haji Farooq Mir also spoke on the occasion.
