Hyderabad: Former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao left an indelible mark of his calibre and mettle by introducing many reforms in various sectors which brought better changes, according to Rajmohan Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. He was delivering a memorial lecture on PV Narasimha Rao, at a programme held at Ravindra Bharathi here.

Speaking on the occasion after releasing a book on Narasimha Rao’s life history, Rajmohan Gandhi noted that Rao had offered the best of services for the cause of the poor and development of all sections in India. He brought in revolutionary changes in Telecom, Science and Technology, IT and Communications and Industry to the restructuring of Indian Economy, Gandhi said.

Narasimha Rao was not only a gentleman, but practiced ethics and values in politics during difficult times. The former prime minister was also a political figure at national level who shifted his focus on reforms to put India on the right track of continuous growth and remain in forefront in the chosen domains, he said.

Gandhi also stated that many fields saw a sea change due to the reforms brought by the former prime minister. Others who participated in the event recalled the services rendered by Narasimha Rao. They also said Narasimha Rao held various positions and offered the best services at the State, Central and international level.
