Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court today directed the West Bengal government to file a report on action taken against the persons who beat up a youth for slapping Trinamool Congress youth-wing Chief Abhishek Banerjee.
Banerjee, nephew of state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and also an MP, was slapped by a youth as he was addressing a public meeting at Chandipur in East Midnapore district on January five.
The youth was then beaten up by some people.
