The auction will continue on Friday, despite it being a holiday on account of Holi festival. Sources said that fresh five rounds of bidding took place on Thursday, after six rounds on the first day on Wednesday with bids worth Rs 60,000 crore.

New Delhi : The second day of the biggest ever telecom spectrum auction ended on Thursday with total bids growing to about Rs 65,000 crore, as the telecom operators bid aggressively across all bands including those for 2G and 3G. The auction will continue on Friday, despite it being a holiday on account of Holi festival. Sources said that fresh five rounds of bidding took place on Thursday, after six rounds on the first day on Wednesday with bids worth Rs 60,000 crore. "The bidding has taken place in all bands. At present, a value of approximately Rs 65,000 crore has been committed by bidders in respect of provisionally won spectrum," the DoT said.
