Defamation case

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav appeared before a court on Tuesday in connection with a defamation case. This was also the first time that both Kejriwal and Yadav - who was recently thrown out of the Aam Aadmi Party's top decision-making body for anti-party activities - were seen in public together.

Taking a strong view over his absence in connection with the case, the court in New Delhi's Karkardooma area had asked Kejriwal to appear before it on Tuesday. It also accused the three leaders of having no respect for the law. AAP leader Surender Sharma , who filed the defamation case against Kejriwal, was the AAP candidate from Shahdara during the recent Delhi elections. The candidature was later withdrawn forcing a disgruntled Sharma to file the case.
