Security personnel on Friday had recovered a powerful bomb from a car from Barnihat area outskirts of Guwahati along Assam-Meghalaya border, which was planted by suspected Garo National Liberation Army militants, officials said.
Guwahati: Security personnel on Friday had recovered a powerful bomb from a car from Barnihat area outskirts of Guwahati along Assam-Meghalaya border, which was planted by suspected Garo National Liberation Army militants, officials said.According to reports, police had found the bomb from a Swift Desire car (ML-10-B-1044) owned by a contactor named Gilbert Sangma on Friday morning.
The contactor said that, the militant group demanded Rs 6 lakh and threaten to kill him.
“I have received a call from the militant group and they demanded Rs 6 lakh and threaten me,” the contactor said.
“Today morning, I found a bomb in my car and immediately informed to police,” Gilbert said.
Later, local police had recovered the bomb and bomb squad team gad defused it.
