Sri Lanka released 102 fishermen from Tamil Nadu as goodwill gesture last week but detained their fishing boats.The strike in six districts including Nagai, Ramnad, Karaikal has affected more than 10 lakh fishermen families.

Fishermen association said that they will be blockading Karaikal port with their fishing boats on Friday.The fishermen have urged the Central Government to intervene and find a lasting solution to the problem.
