Chennai:AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is all set to woo people again. This time, she's letting her actions speak while telling the people of her state what her Govt has done ever since she came to power.
During one of the recent election campaigns, Amma, as she's fondly referred to in the political circles reminded people of the ordeals they went through during the DMK regime.
Drawing a comparison between the present Govt and the previous one (DMK), Jayalalithaa asked voters to make her party victorious in the May 16 elections.
Iterating that her Govt had given the spring in the last five years, the a Tamil Nadu CM charged her arch rival at Kalathil, from where DMK Treasurer MK Stalin is seeking another term. Jayalalithaa visited all the 16 Assembly constituencies in Chennai as part of her rigorous election campaign.
Highlighting the achievements of her Govt, Jayalalithaa told people thus...
"In the previous DMK government, you had suffered a lot. Nobody can forget the power cut situation prevailing then, nor the sufferings of the people. There was 10-15 hours of power cut due to which students could not study and entire Tamil Nadu was in darkness."
While law and order had "collapsed," property like land was grabbed or encroached upon during the DMK government of 2006-11, Jayalalithaa added.
"But the AIADMK government has given you spring. Tamil Nadu is no more facing power cut. Law and order is best maintained while police is promptly acting on land grab charges," she said.
Such usurped property had been retrieved and handed over to rightful owners, and for such a "spring to continue" people have to vote for AIADMK, Jayalalithaa said.
There's no doubting that the Puratchi thalaivi has done quite a lot for the upliftment of the poor. She urged the voters to vote back her party to power for overall peace and welfare in the State.
That Amma had a great fan following not only across Tamil Nadu but also across the globe is no news. Going by what she has done for the people of her state, it looks like she will get back on the hot seat again!
