Terming as a ‘storehouse of immense potentials’ Acharya called upon them to do the needful to bring about tangible and positive changes conducive for the development of the country.

Speaking at a function organized to felicitate him in Mumbai on July 6, Acharya requested the august gathering attended by different business houses, journalists, people from the world of art, culture and sports to make serious efforts for the development of the North Eastern States of India without which “we cannot consider ourselves to be doing justice to the country at large”.

Acharya also urged them to come and pay their visit to North East and experience its pristine and untapped beauty which is also full of potentials and possibilities.

The Governor of Assam and Nagaland was felicitated by Assam Bhawan Mumbai (Govt. of Assam), Indian National Fellowship Centre(INFC), Assam Association Mumbai, Naga Students Union Mumbai and Shreemoyee Asomiya Mahila Samiti Mumbai at a function held at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak Auditorium at Shivaji Park, Dadar(W) Mumbai.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh, Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University and was largely attended by a host of dignitaries across Mumbai.

Synchronizing with the occasion, the artistes from North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC) along with local artistes from Assam Association Mumbai put up a colourful cultural performances showcasing rich cultural heritage of the North East.

Acharya also took part in an interactive session with the audience and answered queries on a wide spectrum of issues relating to the North East with special emphasis on the states of Assam and Nagaland.
